JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2013\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is expected to open the Southbound I-295 East Beltway Managed Lanes exit to mainline I-295 on Thursday, Dec. 22.<\/p>\n

Starting Thursday, motorists who choose to use the southbound I-295 Managed Lanes will have a choice to exit on State Road 9B or exit to reconnect with I-295 just after Philips Highway (U.S. 1). During peak hours, motorists will pay a $0.50 toll for use of the Managed Lanes.<\/p>\n

The I-295 Managed Lanes in Duval County are operating in \u201ctime of day\u201d tolling, which means tolls will only be charged during peak travel times. Peak travel times along I-295 are from\u00a06 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.<\/b><\/p>\n

During non-peak hours, tolls are not collected, and violations for users without a transponder are waived. Motorists considering using the lanes during peak hours are encouraged to obtain a SunPass or another interoperable transponder to avoid a toll violation.<\/p>\n
