SANDERSON, FL.<\/b>\u00a0\u2013 The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will temporarily close the I-10\u00a0<\/b>westbound rest area at mile marker 318\u00a0<\/b>between the U.S. 441 and U.S. 90 exits. Starting Tuesday, August 15, the closure will be in place daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. until milling work is complete. The next rest area on I-10 westbound is located at mile marker 295.<\/p>\n

Work will continue over the next several weeks on additional improvements, including resurfacing of the truck, car and RV parking lots.<\/p>\n

The work is part of FDOT\u2019s I-10 resurfacing taking place from west of County Road 250 to State Road 121, which consists of removing and replacing the top layers of asphalt on I-10, resurfacing of eastbound and westbound Baker County rest areas, resurfacing of I-10 interchanges with U.S. 90, County Road 229 and County Road 125, traffic signal work, highway signage, guardrail installation and incidental construction.<\/p>\n

Anderson Columbia, Co. is expected to complete the $32 million project summer 2023, weather and schedule permitting.<\/p>\n
