YULEE, Fla.<\/b>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0Full daytime closures will be in place on U.S. 17 over the St. Mary\u2019s River from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23 through Thursday, Sept. 26 for routine bridge maintenance.<\/p>\n

During the closures, motorists will not be able to cross the St. Mary\u2019s Bridge and will be detoured to I-95 to cross the river.<\/p>\n

The St. Mary\u2019s Bridge was constructed in 1927 and is a movable swing bridge, where the center span twists to open for vessels. The bridge is completely manual and requires a crew to unlock the vessel, manually turn the bridge and relock the bridge when vessels request an opening.<\/p>\n
