JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The I-295 southbound on ramps from Hecksher Drive (SR-105) are scheduled to close overnight Thursday for construction related to the I-295 resurfacing project.
During the closures, all traffic will detour via New Berlin Road/Alta Drive to the Alta Drive and I-295 interchange located north of Heckscher Drive. Ramps will close at 9 p.m. Thursday, June 1 and reopen by 6 a.m. Friday, June 2, weather and unforeseen circumstances permitting. The backup date for this construction is Sunday, June 4, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday, June 5.
The resurfacing and improvement project from the Dames Point Bridge to north of Heckscher Drive includes milling and resurfacing, guardrail improvements, restriping and new highway signage. In addition, the asphalt sections of the Dames Point Bridge will be resurfaced, and the bridge joints replaced.
