We have State Farm Insurance, we called them – such a tedious process! And State Farm charged the credit card ahead of time for a tow (we cancelled). The Road Ranger bravely said “no problem, I do this all the time”. He changed the highway side tire in no time, directed us to an exit with tire places and we were on our way back to Virginia. “On 12/10/21 during the early evening (mosquitoes) hours we had a blow out on I 75 on our friends crappy trailer were towing.. The dry rotted tire had exploded and wrapped itself around the springs and axel. It looked pretty snug there. The Road Ranger came along with his array of tools and we were able to release its hold. He also had air pressure tank because, of course, the spare was flat. With his help (and directions) we were able to get back on the road, get to the next good exit, get to a hotel and find a bar! “We had been on the road for over 3.5 hours already and our insurance company had not had any response from any tow truck or mechanic to change and evaluate the flat tire. We were looking at another 2 hours of waiting according to our Insurance company. I called the police in GA (we were on the FL side of the border). They referred us to FL police and then the proper authorities to handle our call. Within 10 minutes a truck pulls up to help us and the Road Ranger introduced himself. My husband helped empty the car to get the tire while the Road Ranger set up the space with cones, etc. He was very personable and explained who he was and the service he could provide. He was quick and helpful and assured us we were good to go but get the regular tire looked at the next day. He helped load the damaged tire into our car and bid us goodbye. My husband offered him $50 for helping us on New Years Day but he graciously refused. This was a wonder experience and we are keeping the brochure he gave us in our glove box in case there is a problem in the future as we are moving to Florida.

“This Road Ranger quite possibly saved my life. Stopped at a rest stop to nap during a late night drive from Atlanta to Miami (visiting Mom for the holidays). Woke up to a dead battery at 1am. Nobody at the stop, found a security guard that couldn’t help with a jump but he offered me the road rangers number. My insurance covers roadside assistance, called them first. They sent me Meth-head Mike, the guy couldn’t find the rest stop. Pretty sure it’s the only one between 75 and Jax headed eastbound. Anyway that wasted 2 hours. New car (hybrid), so pop the hood and there’s no battery. Ok no prob, search the web for make, model and location of battery. Phone battery dies. Car is dead so can’t charge it. Weather turns and it starts to pour on me. This weather system is the tail end of a coldsnap so temp is in the 40’s so now i’m wet and cold. Able to find a wall plug at the rest stop and begin phone charging, fire off a call to Road Rangers, still hoping roadside assistance will show and save the day. Almost zero bars (no service) on the phone and all the hybrid tutorials are videos, so that’s not going to load easy. It’s holiday so the car is packed with stuff and I begin to unload .. again in the rain.. in 40deg weather. Oh … also the hatchback won’t open because there’s no key entry for it .. all controlled by a keyfob and again the battery is dead. So to open the hatchback you must crawl into the back from the front seat and find some super secret latch and disengage with a screwdriver. Guess who doesn’t have a screwdriver? It’s dark, i’m soaked, it’s really getting cold and i’m using a folding knife for a job where you shouldn’t be using a folding knife. The back of the car lights up … It’s the Road Ranger in his HERO truck … with jumper cables a screwdriver and a smile. Battery is so dead it takes 20 min to fire up. I offer him my last $20 cause he possibly saved me from pneumonia, he declines. I just want to hug him. He of course doesn’t want that. 5 hrs after my car fails to start i’m back on the road. He is a national treasure. A humble guy just doing his job. Please, if you’re know him well enough to hug him, give him a good one for me. Sean McIntyre”

I lost total air on a rear passenger tire (about 8 nails were found on the tire.) We had a wheel fall off on the Danes port bridge. There is no break down lane to pull over to. So, we were sitting in the traffic lane unable to move. The. Road Ranger Patrol pulled in behind us and steered traffic around us. He called for a safe harbor tow. He was very nice, reassuring. He made us feel safe and that help was on the way. A Road Ranger showed up within 20 minutes of my call. Assessed the situation and seen that I had a good spare for my boat trailer tire that blew on the interstate and said this won’t take too long. He set up a safety perimeter with cones for our safety and got to work. He had us back on the road within another 20 minutes and wished us better luck with our fishing trip. After pulling over to the side of the freeway from a blown-out tire, a Road Ranger came over to help me. I pulled over to a safe place but was on a grassy wet slope which made it a little more challenging to change the tire. He was safe, professional, courteous, and really came at the right time to such an unexpected time. He quickly changed my tire and got be back on the road safely. On June 18th I was driving to Tallahassee on I-10 and got a flat tire. I contacted my insurance co, road assistance with no results. My cousin who I was on my way to see called the FDOT Road Rangers. Within a short while a Road Ranger showed up. He was kind, respectful and very safety minded. He changed my tire and told me how to drive on the spare safely. It was a very good experience and I want to let this Dept. know that I am very appreciative, you rendered great service and have good Road Rangers.
