JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – As part of the ongoing interchange improvement project at Butler Boulevard (State Road 202) and Kernan Boulevard, eastbound Butler Boulevard from I-295 to Kernan Boulevard will close Saturday, March 18 for installation of pavement markings and temporary barrier wall and implementation of a traffic shift. The roadway will close by 7 a.m. Saturday and reopen once work is completed but no later than 6 a.m. Monday, March 20.
During the closure, the following detours will be in place:
- Eastbound Butler Boulevard: Traffic will be detoured north on I-295, east on Beach Boulevard and south on Kernan Boulevard to rejoin eastbound Butler Boulevard.
- Southbound and Northbound I-295: Traffic will be detoured east on Beach Boulevard and south on Kernan Boulevard to access eastbound Butler Boulevard.
- Northbound I-295 Managed Lanes: Traffic will be detoured west on Butler Boulevard, south on Gate Parkway, east on Butler Boulevard, north on I-295, east on Beach Boulevard and south on Kernan Boulevard to access eastbound Butler Boulevard.
- Town Center Parkway: Traffic will be detoured north on I-295, east on Beach Boulevard and south on Kernan Boulevard to access eastbound Butler Boulevard.
Motorists should follow detour signage, use caution in active construction zones and allow extra time to reach their destinations.
