JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Main Street Bridge will close nightly Wednesday, May 28, and Thursday, May 29 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for routine maintenance.
Additional nightly closures will occur from Sunday, June 1 through Tuesday, June 3 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Drivers, bicyclists and pedestrians will be detoured to the Acosta Bridge; marine traffic will not be impacted by the closures.
The Florida Department of Transportation has a robust bridge maintenance program that protects taxpayer investments and ensures the structures receive preventative maintenance to extend the life of their investment.
The Main Street Bridge is a vertical lift bridge and is raised and lowered more than 1,400 times a year.
