JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Drivers turning left from Beach Boulevard (SR 212) onto Southside Boulevard (SR 115) will encounter a new traffic pattern after FDOT contractors implement the Median U-Turn (MUT) concept at the intersection during the overnight hours of Thursday, May 25.
MUTs are innovative intersection designs that reroute left-turning vehicles away from the main intersection and direct them to a separate intersection, allowing more green-light time for major traffic movements. MUTs also increase the safety factor of the intersection through a reduction in vehicular conflict points.
