Dames Point Bridge will see outside lane closures January to March
Jacksonville – Both the north and southbound lanes of Jacksonville’s Dames Point Bridge will experience single outside lane closures that will remain in place both day and night and some multi-lane closures during nighttime off-peak hours. These lane closures will begin January 3, 2017, and will stay in place until rehabilitation work completes on the bridge in mid-March 2017.
The closures are necessary for construction crews to install access platforms and perform repairs to bridge components. Additionally, minor resurfacing will also occur on a portion of the bridge deck.
Signs will alert drivers of the lane closure beginning in mid-December and remain in place throughout the duration of the closures.
M & J Construction of Tarpon Springs was awarded the $4.5 million project. Construction is expected to be completed in the summer of 2017, weather and schedule permitting.
