Detour will add two minutes of travel time
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – FDOT is scheduled to detour traffic on the I-295 eastbound ramp to I-95 northbound starting Monday, June 5 at 10 p.m. as part of construction activities on the I-95/I-295 North Interchange Operational Improvements Project.
As shown in the map below, drivers will be detoured to U.S. 17 and I-295 westbound to access I-95 northbound while crews complete work aimed at moving the project into its next phase by opening a large work area in the center of the I-95/I-295 interchange.
This detour is expected to be in place for several months. The detour route will not require any additional stopping through the U.S. 17 (Main Street) intersection and will add an additional two minutes to the estimated original travel time.
This detour is part of the new phase of construction on the I-95/I-295 North Interchange Operational Improvements project. The interchange upgrades are part of an important effort to promote economic growth and development in the region.
